For an international construction supplier, project visibility is only the start of market entry. A viable opportunity also needs product fit, access to decision-makers and a practical path through qualification, procurement and site use.

Choose the application and project stage

Define where the product will be used and the problem it addresses. Then identify the project stage at which a supplier can still influence selection. A large project list can overstate opportunity when designs or purchasing decisions are already settled.

Record the use case, likely quantity assumptions, specification status and the next decision event. Keep unverified project information visibly separate from confirmed customer evidence.

Map influence and purchase authority

Owners, designers, consultants, contractors and procurement teams can have different roles. Determine who evaluates the solution, who accepts its use and who places the order for the particular project.

Tailor evidence to each role: application suitability, installation practicality, commercial scope or service availability. A single generic presentation rarely resolves all of these questions.

Validate local delivery and adoption

Assess training, installation supervision, stock and after-sales requirements alongside the product opportunity. Identify whether these capabilities sit with the manufacturer, a distributor or another specialist.

Ask which certifications, approvals and project-specific requirements apply. Confirm these with the relevant authorities and qualified specialists; do not assume approval in another market is sufficient.

Create a focused first-market plan

Select a manageable group of accounts and applications. Assign ownership for specification discussions, partner development and commercial follow-up, and review the evidence at each stage.

The first roadmap should explain what would justify more investment and what would cause the team to change direction. This makes the entry plan a decision tool rather than a list of visits.

Questions for leadership

What to take into the next discussion

  1. Qualify the application and decision window.
  2. Map the full chain from specification to purchase.
  3. Validate support and approval requirements before quoting broadly.
